"I would like to invite you to visit us here at the First Brethren Church of New Paris. You may ask: What makes the First Brethren Church of New Paris so special? First, let me state that New Paris has been blessed with several excellent churches, led by devout and Godly men. Participation in any of these congregations will truly enrich your soul; so let me tell you about the First Brethren Church. I believe that the character of this congregation is best grasped through the understanding of our Three-fold Communion. First, we start with an Agape Meal. This is a simple meal that signifies the love and fellowship that we share as brothers and sisters in Christ. Second is the breaking of Bread that represents the New Covenant (new relationship) of Christ and the drinking of the juice that represents our acceptance and faith in the covering of our sins by Christ's blood. Third is the washing of feet. This ceremony symbolizes the covenant that we make as brothers and sisters to help each other through the world. We realize that we are all human and we strive to follow Christ's example in helping and accepting each other just as we are. With that in mind, if you are not currently participating in another congregation, come and join us. Our worship is in a very laid back style. But our desire to love and serve our Heavenly Father and to love and serve our brothers and sisters is very deliberate.

In Christ's service, Pastor Ted Schowengerdt

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK (October):

I am excited about October. I am looking forward to schedules leveling out from the summer activities. I am looking forward to the three-fold communion coming up this month, and I want to encourage all to come and participate (you'll be glad you did). I am looking forward to the church members meeting as we plan and prepare for the future of the First Brethren Church of New Paris. And please be aware of the Play and Pray party on the 31st. This is where Bev and I say "Thank you" by providing a soup supper and a time of playing games. On a more serious note, I will be in the sanctuary at midnight to come against Satan, and I invite anyone that can join me to do so.
I would also like to remind everyone that I am here to serve you. If I can be of service to you, just give me a call.
